This is the winner of an architectural competition to remodel an old, one-story bank building and convert it into a center that celebrates the history of Lebanese-American immigrants. When visitors enter the building, they commemorate the trip taken by each immigrant that crossed over the vast ocean from the East to the West; a bridge crosses over a shallow pool of water that reflects the image of the structure. Mixing traditional Lebanese Architectural elements – iconic stone facades and red brick roofs - with contemporary glass Architectural elements, the architectural fusion is a poetic celebration of both the Old World and the New. The building houses a large research center with a digital library, a prayer hall dedicated to all religions, a restaurant, an indoor and outdoor art gallery, a multi-purpose hall, and much more.
